new rule for vehicle marketplace section??

how about a rule that you need to have a picture of the vehicle, or atleast a link to a picture of the vehicle in the thread. Seriously, how the fukc are you going to sell a car without a picture of it. And no more "I'll post a puicture in a coupe days" crap.

That is an excellent idea. The ad is pretty much worthless without pictures.

Also it might be a good idea to have a post minimum before someone can post in the for sale section. I see a lot of people with 1 or 2 posts put things up and never come back to the site to check it. One of the other forums I am on requires pictures and a minimum post count and it seems like it keeps a lot of the crap out. They also have admins review every for sale ad first but that would not likely happen here.

I agree with every thing but the post count thing. I just found this forum not to long ago and one of the first things I did was put my Cherokee up for sale, with pics!

I'm not a big fan of the post count idea. I am sure there are more people like me on here who read way more than they post. You really don't want to encourage people to post without something to say just to raise their post count.

The number of bullshit troll posts that people would make just to list something in the Marketplace not only has nothing to do with their level of response or proficiency with operating a vBulletin board, but it would be annoying as fukc to the membership and frustrating to those who have a legitimate interest in hanging around. Every single post in the Marketplace does two things: 1) It ends up high up in Google results, drawing additional people to the site, and 2) it represents an opportunity for an existing member to get what they want/need. Neither of those are things you want to impede.

Every single new post in every sub-forum of the Marketplace used to be reviewed long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away. It was a lot of work. There is no Mod here 1) willing to do that, or 2) capable of keeping up with the workload in a timely manner considering how much the level of traffic has increased over the years. Members would lose patience when they don't receive approval and see their new post appear in a near-instantaneous manner.

Perhaps, but that "good idea" is already happening by way of all the overlooked Craigslist links being inserted into FS threads lately. (Even Greasemonkey is guilty of it.) People are lazy and don't want to upload/link shit twice.

"People are lazy and don't want to upload/link shit twice."

You've got that right.

Any time I've sold anything I was actually interested in selling it so I posted pictures and complete information, just how I like seeing ads. I hate the links to Craig's list.
Still can't figure out why some find it so difficult posting a picture.
