Rotator cuff injury

I'm looking for anyone's experience with recovery and how the surgery went. How bad was your tear? How long were you out of commission?

Had a PT do a quick eval on mine over the weekend, and it's weak at best. Currently uncomfortable, but still can use it for most things i do. However, I haven't tried pulling my bow back lately, and haven't swung an splitting axe in a while.

Talk to creeping death anytime after the 29th.
He's having teondesis and rotator cuff evaluation surgery on that date.
He may even have to have a second surgery to repair the cuff after recovering from teondesis.
3 to 4 months for recovery for teondesis and another 3 to 4 months for the cuff if the second surgery is necessary.

I can't golf or swing an axe anymore, my left shoulder is also significantly weaker than my right. I have done at least 36 weeks of PT over the last 3 years, doc doesn't think I need surgery, I am certain I do.

I will be seeing a new doc on October 14th. Hoping to be fully recovered by April 1 2014.

I also did something to my rotator cuff... Haven't been able to comfortably pull back a bow since February - rather inconvenient, since I was in an archery league that I had pre-paid for. Also, can't sleep on my left side.

I just went to the doctor for it last week, got some xrays done. He said I'll probably need to do PT before the xrays were taken. I have a followup appointment soon, so we'll see what he says.

I tore my rotator cuff 4 years ago and the long term effect varies for different people. I never had surgery because mine healed but I still have significant weakness compared to what it used to be. Muskegon zj girl is almost exactly on point for the surgery aspect however i was told to keep my arm in a sling all day and dont do ANYTHING with it. Good luck its a pain in the butt

I just finished PT on mine the week before last. I tore my right cuff(and im right handed). I didnt have surgery, i jus did the PT, and its 10x better than it was. I tore it in November, sucked it up till March. Im already throwing a softball(med velocity), but there are still some motions that hurt like hell.

Mine never tore, I had tendonitis of the rotator cuff, the pain was almost unbearable when I moved my arm certain ways. I can only imagine how much an actual tear would hurt. I still have pains when I throw a ball hard or open a door that's hard to pull.

X2 but get the MRI with the Arthrogram injection (Dye)

Surgery is not bad it was the recovery that suck's. I had 2 completely torn labrums off the rotor cuff, a bicep tear with a cracked humerus (rotor cuff) all at the same time. Then I had to go back under in to have another tear re-attached that did not take. It is still not correct and the Dr. wants to go back in for exploratory surgery and break up all the crap and double check everything. I can't throw a set of keys across the room to someone over hand and it has been 8 months

What he said (tests)
Our GP told creepy that he had arthritis in the AC joint so he lived with the pain for over a year. The arthrogram told a different story, showing a torn labarum and bicep.

I some how tore my labrum and the dr wants to cut it out but I will wait. He said I might have a tear in the r cuff also and he told me that its a good 4-6 months before you are back to doing normal stuff. I know a few people who have had it done and they have all said the recovery is hell

Good Luck and a cat scan with dye will show it also
