Default Looking to tire upgrade, need some assistance

Right now I am currently running BFG A/T 31-10.50R15 tires on 15x8 M/t Classic Rims.

I bought these wheels back when my Jeep sat stock but I've been starting to look at other possibilities now that I have a 3" Lift on the jeep.

I was thinking about getting M/T MTZ 33x12.50R15s, would these fit comfortably on the rims I currently have or would the tire be to wide for the 15x8 rim. (I've heard rule of thumb is to have the rim at least 2" narrower but im not sure if anymore than that could be bad)

It will be perfectly fine and you won't have to worry about blowing a bead as much vs. a skinnier tire.

A friend has MTZs and though they are a nice tire, they're wearing much quicker than my Kevlar MTRs. Something to consider.
