Glad to hear Drew and Mike are gone. I can't stand them.

Sometimes I actually like to hear people talk (as opposed to Pandora). I must be weird.
x2. I listen to the radio mostly when I am farting around in the garage. It's usually on 101.5 or 97.1. Like you, I enjoy hearing real people talk from time to time

Sure, all of those things are available at the click of a mouse or swipe of a touch screen phone, but sometimes, people don't want to be all:

"I'm clarkston cracker and I like to pretend I am so ahead of the times and trendy that I only listen to blah blah blah commercial free radio and I have my phone synced to my windsheild heads up display to provide me with full fox news headlines, weather reports, local sports, as well as local drink specials updates, not to mention my amazon clicker with the deals of the day...oh, and bitcoin."
Surprisingly, you are in the minority, the majority.

good joke though, I guess?

I work in an office, I usually have drudgereport or reddit up on one of my monitors so I'm so up on news.. I also have forecastfox so I always know the weather.

So not only am I more "attached" (in your words) than the average person, I don't want to spend the time I have available to listen to music listening to advertisements or even worse, news casts that give you 10% of the story...

The WRIF's music selection was relevant 20 years ago. It doesn't seem like they have really changed with the times. While station surfing I'll stop at the WRIF and 7/10 its something we all would consider classic rock, 2/10 its a song from the 90's, and 1/10 its something new.

That whole station needs a make over. Maybe that is what they are going for.

I would much rather listen to 94.7 than the WRIF. 94.7 doesnt clog up their airtime with dumb dj's that just talk, its more music and limited commercials, I really like that.

are you sure about that?

I guess if you poll the people using internet and satellite for music/news, then the majority of them primarily use internet and satellite.

looking/talking around the office here, it's definitely not the majority.

Stating that he receives information, news, and weather from the radio is not the majority of people between 25-35.

There was music after the early 80s? Not in my book, mister... We baby boomers will dominate the airwaves until we're all checked out in senile dementia. Frampton Comes Alive FTW!!!!!

I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying.

If I want news, I know where to get it.
If I want weather, information, etc. I know where to get it.

If I am listening to the radio in my car, I prefer XM radio for long road trips, mainly so I don't have to try and find a station.

If I am staying local/and or driving less than 1 hour, working in the garage, at the office, in my kitchen, around the house, hanging out in the backyard with friends, etc. I don't like to listen to XM radio or CD's as background noise, I prefer listening to live radio where I will get updates on the local news, weather, local sports, real people, local establishments that are running specials, etc.

That would not surprise me at all.

I listen to 101.5 at work in Walled Lake. Comes in great while streaming it on my phone or laptop.

I look forward to hearing Dave and Chuck the Freak again. I have not been able to listen to Drew and Mike for years, they suck. Wish we had more choices but it is what it is.

In reality, this doesn't affect me at all. I'm on the road so much it's usually whatever I have on my ipod that I listen to.
