Thanks guys- I have a couple other projects that need attention untill christmas time, and then I think we are going to tear the motor down for some exporatory surgury. There's an intermittant rattle that's scaring me.
It might get a couple upgrades while it's apart too....

Just a couple updates. As of this weekend the motor is pulled and the top half is tore down. Everything looked good except they aren't forged pistons in there. If the bottom end is getting pulled apart for new pistons, it may just have to get a new crank and rods as well. I'm thinking that it's going to end up spmewhere around 547 CID by the time the dust settles.....

I finally got my fenderwell headers ordered up tonight so I'll be getting pics of those and the motor tear-down at some point later this week.

The rattle DID end up being a cracked flexplate- just as I expected.

Just an update- It's been a long winter! I'm just finishing porting the heads. Almost 3 months worth of Saturdays wearing safety glasses and hearing protection. I can still hear the whining!!!!

New crank, H-beam rods and pistons are on the way as well as a monster cam, headers, new side-mounted exhaust, 3000 stall, and intake.
I'm hoping for north of 600 HP, but the dyno sheets will tell all.
If things stay on track, I should have it up at the dunes before Memorial Day weekend for a little test n tune.

The stroker kit is shaking out to be a 523 once everything is assembled and I'm keeping the CR right at 10.5:1 so I don't need to drop big money on race fuel- unless I really want to play.

I need to get it dialed in 1st. Fuel system and entire bottom end will handle it when the time comes.... Forged pistons and H-beams FTW!

Is it going to be done by Tuesday? It would be nice to see this thing rolling for Teddy.

Little update: Final machining and balancing are being done right now. With any luck I'll have them back this Friday- just in time to lock myself in the shop all weekend and start assembly. The only items I have yet to purchase are the intake (located), fuel manifold for the carbs, and collectors/mufflers.
If all goes well with the assembly, break-in, and tuning, I should have it up in the sand Father's day weekend.

And there's a little blue bottle kit on the shop floor for later this season.

Yeah- I'll just hit the chasis dyno after it's all done. In my opinion, that's the only number that really counts.

That number makes your engine output a guess though
