I've stocked up more than usual over the past few months, just to ensure that I will have enough rounds to shoot. I easily go through a few thousand rounds every 6-8 months.

I wanted you all to know I got two boxes of CCI .22 L. R. at Walmart yesterday.

I have been stopping in different gun stores every week, mostly to survey the ammunition availability.

Gander Mountain had several AR type rifles on the shelves as well.
Meijer
Walmart
Dunhams
Not Just Guns
Total Firearms
Gander Mountain
All had ammunition on the shelves.
It is getting better

Yeah, AR's and 5.56 haven't been a problem for the last month from my perspective. We had been fully stocked for a while, but recently ran out of 5.56 again. Pistol ammo, we had plenty .40/.45 when I left at 2:30 today. 9mm and .22 has been coming in pretty steadily, but still going quick. .380 has been very slim.

Down here in the Ann Arbor area there is literally no ammo on the shelves of Meijer, Walmart and even the local firing ranges have been out of .22LR for a long time.

A week ago we were in Marquette and I hit all the stores with nothing in stock. At Walmart a worker told me "we get our shipments in a 10pm and stock the ammo every night between 10 - midnight, so come then".

Next day I went at 10pm and they said they didn't get any in.

Next day I went in at 10pm and they said "one of our workers opened today's shipment and sold it to a guy early".

Next day i went in at 10pm and they said "we didn't get any ammo today, in fact in the last month we have only gotten .22 ammo 3 times, and once was a single 50 round box".

It was then that I gave up. Obama's goverment sucks ass.

I have learned a lot in the last six months about the true colors of local gun stores. LOTS of gouging going on that's completely unnecessary.

I've kept plenty of ammo well before the SHTF. The problem is not hoarding, it's all you assholes that are ill prepared. Fuck You cunts.

From what I've experienced the stores are not receiving the ammo, it is not that demand is pulling it off the shelf as soon as it's delivered (hording).

Same as the idiots running around after a storm looking for a generator. The time to buy a generator is when the power is on.

The flaw in your analogy is that people "need" a generator in a crisis, and those that prepare for a crisis have purchased in advance.

With .22LR ammo my son and I use the gun for recreation to hunt and target shoot. The gun was not purchased nor ever indended to be for a "crisis". There was never a "need" to own 1000 rounds. In the past I would buy 100-200 rounds, and when it ran out I'd go grab more from the store. Now I don't dare even target shoot for fear that I'll never see ammo on the shelves again. It's total BS.

Think ahead and you don't have to see that disappointed look on your kid's face, or spend more money on gas that ammo trying to find a few extra rounds to shoot. Especially considering the cost of 22LR. No matter the reason of the shortage, having a couple ammo cans loaded in the corner of your basement fixes it.

I had no clue 22lr doubled in price at most places and was that hard to come by. Two months ago I gave a two coworkers each a box of 550 for free. Oops.

However I don't believe in price gouging and 22lr was so easy to come by a year ago I have 8 550 boxes left.

Hell, you can't even get .22LR at Cabelas online anymore. I'm telling you the shortage is not because of panic buying, it's because it's not making it to the stores.

Agreed

http://rt.com/usa/dhs-ammo-investiga...apolitano-645/

Purchasing 1.6 billion rounds of ammo would also give DHS the means to fight the equivalent of a 24-year Iraq War

Wrong. All thes stores are getting ammo, i guarantee it. We had over 60,000 rounds of JUST .22 alone come in and sell this week.

I was telling a guy at Walmart, after my wife and I both bought a box of 100, (that is all they would sell 1 box to each) that I had enough at my house, but was just picking it up because it was the first .22LR I had seen since December. He started questioning what do you mean where did you get it etc. I explained that I bought a bunch of the M-22 550 count boxes before Christmas when they were stupid cheap etc etc etc etc, the next thing you know, Hey how much would you sell some for, where do you live, I was worried he was going to start humping my leg. I got a little freaked out by the man love that was expressed.

I went to Cabela's yesterday. It was about 2 in the afternoon, plenty of Ammo, even .22.
The Ammo section was packed with people calling friends, asking what they needed. I asked the guy behind the counter, Is it like thie everyday.
He said they have a line out the door every morning, of the same 12-20 guys, and they literally race each other back to the Ammo section, especially since they lefted the buying limits. The only thing they limit now is .22 .

Do you sell online? PM me if so. I'm tired of this BS. I just want enough for me and my son to shoot in the back lot.
