Default what tire ??????????

So I had 40 inch goodyears for about a year.Loved the tire Hated the look
Now Ive had 40 inch BFG krawlers for about a year they work ok but thinking of trying something diffrent.
Found out you can buy the 40 inch mtr`s agian but after the luck I had with my last set Leary about buying another.
I think I have a line up on some new 40 Maxis trepator stickies I love the look of them but dont know anybody who has wheeled them in michigan.

Any thoughts would be great

My bad. I thought Paul's were sticky Treps. I can tell you this much, they don't seem to have the soft sidewall problems like the Krawlers have and they are very popular on the Ultra 4 rigs.

What was wrong with the MTR's? I'm only running the 35's, but I'm super happy with them for Michigan. I know someone running the Maxxis ones, they seem pretty good, but looks like you really need to run them on bead locks, they really need to be aired down to about 3 psi.

Toyo Open Country MT's in the discussion? Been reading lots of great things about them.......but most of them are sponsored so it's hard to judge.

Very poor traction with them... After one year, the armorall from the sidewalls starts leaching out of the treads...

Sorry Joe, you know I love your rig...

Been selling lots of these. Had a lot of the 35-38 range tires coming out of the shop but almost all going on pavement pounders.

I'm looking for a 37"+ worn version if you spot a set. Need to be able to get icecream

Anytime we ever take larger tires off, the customers keep them .

Yeah, I've been watching craigslist for those takeoffs but they don't last long when they go up.

Don't know if your looking at only radials, but my Ltb's have been absolutely awesome in every terrian.
Center tread is irok and outer tread tsl. Rubber isn't as soft as iroks but softer then the tsl. Alboy said he found a shop that said they had new on the shelf. And the ltb is a lot cheaper then most tires this size.

The more I look at tires, the more I think I'm just going to run the LTB's on the road

I hardly ever drive it on the road that's why I'm thinking stickies.
Just never seen the treps in person.

If the 40 inch krawlers had the tread depth the 39 and 37s had I'd keep them but they have about half the tread new and look shot to me.
