yes, because they obviously don't deserve your respect, and you can obviously tell if it was a serviceman from the hearse

Usually you can tell from the large abundance of American flags, freedom riders and other service members in the group. Not hard to notice if you are paying attention.

Why does the dead deserve more respect then the living?

maybe for active service. Plenty of vets pass everyday and go un-noticed.

Really? Because it's their last party. Their last public celebration of life. Thats why.

I accept your first point but refuse your 2nd. Pretty sure no one dead thinks their funeral is a party they would want to attend I sure as hell don't wanna be at mine.

Oh and When I die you could do whatever sick and twisted actions to my ashed that you want cause by then I won't give a shit, cause I'm dead! Actually you can put me in a douche bottle and run me through a whore one last time. Just for old time sake.

Also that applies for goats as well

So basically if it's not a rolling circus you give no fucks?

I'll admit I never even thought of not stopping for oncoming processions as being disrespectful. I'm not sure I will stop just because as someone pointed out most people probably wouldn't and that causes some what of a possible un safe traffic situation. If I were the only car, or others were stopping as well I would and hopefully there would be no accidents.

However, what you said is just blatantly disrespectful.

Some families are proud of their own. It's not meant to be a celebration for the dead. It is a celebration for the living to pay respects to the passed. I feel bad for you for not knowing this... and for not being part of a celebration of someone who passed...

I'm hoping you are just trying to be funny on the internet, but...

Respect is given because. It doesn't need questioning.

You do it because you treat others how you want to be treated. If you are driving your loved one to their final resting place, you would like to do it in a respectful manner. Giving someone the common courtesy to stay out of their way while they tend to a task that is of the highest importance to them at that moment is a small price to pay into the karma pool.

People that are important to you will die in your life time, having others give a little respect to you in that timeframe is wonderful thing. Hopefully if you provide the respect to others, they will return the favor in kind.

Do I feel you need to pull over if a funeral is coming from the other direction? No, but if it looks like something will hold up the procession or interrupt their process, I will get out of their way to the best of my ability.

It Is but guess what I'm pretty sure the rotting pile of meat in the box in the back or the scoop of ash won't be really to concerned about a person stopping or not. I don't purposely go out of my way to disrespect anyone but I also don't take off my hat, hold it over my heart and say a prayer ever time I see a beef or meat truck pass by.

I pity the day you lose someone important in your life. Funerals are not about the person who died, it's about the people coping with the person who died.

I've lost plenty. Sorry if my views upset or come off arrogant but I am entitled to them.
