Everything you have listed is crap, or going to be crap. You can't fix Detroit with a fresh coat of paint. It's residents have proven time in and time out they do not want the city to be fixed. No amount of money you throw at that hole is going to fix it either. It's sad that people think there is good left in the city. It sad because they haven't ventured out to see what real city's look like. Detroit is a perfect example of why throwing good money after bad is never a good idea.
Since the 60's Detroit has been the recipient of billions of dollars in federal and state aid. Guess what it is still in the shitter. The only thing that money did was creat a bunch of government defendant democratic voters. So unless you like looking at blight, then avoid Detroit, avoid it at all costs.

Once again I agree with hancho, But I do occasionally go down to enjoy the stadiums and such. I have no real desire to go down there and spend my money with the crime the way it is.... if that makes sense.

Last time I checked everything I listed is perfectly fine... You have no clue... I agree we can't fix Detroit with a fresh coat of paint... But it is still fixable... There is still a lot of good in this city you have no clue about and are proving to be one of those "Fuck Detroit and burn it to the ground" idiots out there... Go a head burn down the city... See what happens... Water... Electricity... Goods... Export... Import.... All go right the fukc out the window and you just shot yourself in the foot and lost billions in sales and millions in tax revenue... Real smart...

You say all they did was create a democractic voting group... But why is it that a Democractic Mayor has been trying for years to clean up 40+ years of mess and do the none Democractic way?

It can be fixed but the mindset has to be changed. Most of the residents and politicians are looking for handouts and not trying to fix the problem themselves.

This is the say thing that has been said for over 40yrs, and billions of dollars later its still a shit hole....I say buy the residents out, then give it to the military for a live fire range. I would rather drive the 3 extra hours it takes me to get to Chicago if I want to go to a larger city than spend one minute in that shit called Detroit. This is coming from a former resident. My parents moved us out of that city when I was younger and it was the best thing they could have ever done for our family.

As far as the xgames go I would rather see a city that deserves it get the venue

No biggie at least Chicago has nice areas, tons of things to do, tons of great bars and restaurants, Detroit literally has none of those. What Detroit does have is miles and miles of blight

I drive through Detroit everyday. Someone sure is tearing down several buildings. Unfortunately so many more need to be torn down. I am still hoping like mad that the efm FIRES DAMN NEAR EVERYONE IN MANAGEMENT! They are the pied pipers who brought the hood rats to Detroit. Detroit is architecturly awesome and needs to be saved. I am at a loss on what should be done with the ignorant and poor.
