Default 86 CJ 7 3 link build

I have been working on this project for year and thought I would share it. We wheeled for a summer and it needed some major work. I startes with rebuilding the 258 motor, board it 40 over and some head work and a diffrent cam. I also cleaned up the frame and painted. I was gonna do a spring over but decided to 3 link the front and do a spring over on the rear. This winter I will be regearing the axles and putting in lcokers and building new roll cage. It won't let me add anymore picts I will try later. Let me what you guys think!

Try up loading your photos to photobucket and copying the .img line under the pic and post it here. then u don't have to manage the amount of pics u load. it helped me when I did a build thread. looks like a great project btw.

They are 2.5'' dom with 3/4 heims and 5/8 mis alinment spacer. I used 14'' fox coilovers, used heim joints all the links, and 1.25 dom for the tie rods with 5/8 heims with 1/2 miss alinement spacer. All of the bracket were ordered from ruff stuff they are some beefy brackets.

Default Bumper Build

I recently had time to build a bumper. I used 8''x32''x1/2 steel plate for the winch to set on, 2''x4'' square tubing for the front, 2''x2''x5/16" angle iron to mount the bumper to the frame, 1''Dom for the winch line guide, and the tow rigs I found at carqeust

From the pictures, it looks like the 'Citron Pearl' used on the 97 TJs...

Thanks, Not sure if it is that color I haven't seen a TJ that not saying there isn't one. It seems to have a gold color sometimes and then just a greenish sometimes but like it.

Default Newer style intake

I have gotten the new locker or gears in yet or roll cage, but I found a intake and exhaust mainafold off a 83 waggy, it looks a alot nicer then the one that is on it. The old is a 78 model it has the exhaust and intake bolt to gether and some sort of fapper between them and the newer one just has a little tube between them. The final result was a awsome, it seemed to have more power and revs up a bit quicker. I have not drove it much because i had to go to work. Hope to do some wheeler later this week to see if it runs better. The pict is of the old style, I dont have pict of the new set up

Default Finished Cage

As of right now this is how it looks, I still need to tie the cage to the frame and might lower the seats down a little. I used corbeau 4 point seats belt tied into the cage also, envently I will replace seats or get them recovered. Thanks for all the help Kyle Nixon.

Default Limiting Straps

I recntly add some limiting straps from inner air lock, they are some heavy duty straps. Next on the to do list is a new anti wrap setup and bigger shocks for the rear end. After changing gears and lockers the jeep seems to like u joints so hopefully and better designed traction bar will help keep the axle from rotating, and the old shocks were to short.
