Default 100 year flood

http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydro...4&hydro_type=0

For any one from or around Ionia county.

The last time Steel street flooded and water went into the factory their, was 2004.

The USGS is predicting 2.8 feet higher for a crest.

1.9 feet above 1948, in 1948 water was over M-21 between Saranac and Lowell.

Lowell is showing a crest Sunday at 9:00 P.M. of 20 feet, 1948 flood was 19 feet.

This will put water over the dam and M-21 bridge in down town Lowell

Makes me glad I live on higher ground. My lake would have to go 8' higher to reach the slab.

That is after it fills the valley that campau and kettle lake are in.

Is this also caused by global warming like last year's drought?

I think it has something to do with the rain, but I'm not sure.

Why is it always considered "higher than usual rain/snow/hurricanes/tornadoes" if it hasn't happened "since xx years ago?"

If it was global warming related... why do the new things happening always get compared to events that happened 30+ years ago? Shouldn't they be much more common place? Shouldn't these things be topping each other year after year instead of a new storm being compared to one from 1974 etc?

I'm just trying to understand how they tie a big ass storm to something that happened a long time ago to prove the effects of global warming.

Global Warming/Cooling/Climate has been proven to be a hoax. Chuck Norris confessed to sneezing is all, causing a wobble in the earths orbit.

it's all Geo Bush's fault

and global warming has been going on for thosands of years. i was taught that 10~12000 years ago the state of MI was under a mile thick sheet of ice. where is it now? how did it disappear so quickly? must have been all those wooly mammoths farting.

I was down town Ionia this after noon about 5:30, the water is 12" from being on M-66 on the North side where the new burger king is and the camper dealer ship on the East is.

Last night we went into Lyons, and the Webber dam was submerged and the river was running through down town Lyons.

The water is about 9 inches from being on Bridge street in Saranac on the North side of the bridge, The USGS report shows a 2 foot rise average between Ionia and Lowell.

I wonder f they shut the bridge off when the water starts running over the approach on both sides???

It sure don't look safe, for a bridge structure built in the late 70's.
