1972 chevy pickup Original paint and interior ****SOLD*****
1972 chevy pickup.
Originally from Arkansas. Grandfather gave to grandson in 2002 and was brought here. Grandson had drivetrain built, receipts are 2003 to 2005 then ran into money troubles, put truck into storage. I bought last year off grandson, he looked to be about 45. He decided he needed his semi put back on road to make money instead of keeping grandpas truck. Thats his story anyway.
It is original paint except hood. Original interior. Does have some rust in rockers and cab corners but because of drainage issues of this year of trucks not from salt damage. Most southern and western trucks have this issue if original. Under side is nice. I pulled original shocks off with ratchet. I do have all metal if someone is to replace these, but would loose original character of truck. It gets thumbs up everywhere.
I got it with orginal wheels but he had rears widened to 10 inches. I bought brand new BF goodrich, GM ralley wheels and caps from Vintage to fit truck, Bilstein shocks and have been collecting OEM stuff to hook air and power steering back up as this was taken off when motor was done. Also pieces for dinged molding, stuff not new, but era for the truck as I am trying to keep the way is should be.
The motor is 396 pushing about 650hp on pump fuel. The build is dead on as motor is flawless with no hesitation and nothing but power from idle to top end. Motor balanced for 7000rpm but MSD set at 6500 so no over revs. 350 turbo built for this motor. One piece driveshaft into 3:73 gears and Eaton locker 12 bolt rear. All work done professionally and have most receipts. 6500.00 into drivetrain alone. Sounds unreal, and drives nice for still having manual steering. Maybe 1500 miles since build.
Original dealer tag on cowl by driver mirror and rear bumper when they used to stamp their dealer name into the bumper. Cool stuff.
