Ive been taking the kids out camping in the UP for about 6 years now. Its always been an organized event. Problem is there is rarely very many, if at all, kids for them to run around with.
I am not interested in starting anything highly organized, just throwing a feeler out there to see if there are any other folks who would want to coordinate camping trips with the kids in mind. We usually rough it in state or Fed land, but are not opposed to campgrounds. Family friendly, no drugs, controlled alcohol consumption (I would prefer none, but I realize that's unrealistic.)
We may try that this summer. We normally head up into the UP and stay along the Superior coast line camping where ever we see that looks nice.
There is a fine line, though, between to many people and just enough. Admittedly Im picky, which is why I wanted to go a different route in trying to form a small group.
I'd be up for something depending on time/place. I probably camp a bit cushyer though. When I take the kids I either bring the motorhome or at least have some sort of toilet facilities on site.
Dont sweat it. Im not an internet hard ass. Here anyway.
Im not sure what dates we will be available this year. We got word today that we may be extending our normal 10 hour days to 12 with Saturdays thrown as well. Good for the bank account, bad for time off.
We may be interested, we normally camp on federal land campgrounds or small campgrounds. It looks like we are heading to Tippy dam June 7-9th, My brother and his two kids, my two girls(5 and 7) and my Mom are also going.
