Flats are flooded all to hell right now. Tonys on center is good. I'm about 2 miles from there.

Frankenmuth isn't too far out of Saginaw and no one gets mugged, stabbed, shot, etc... Lots of tourist stuff, nice military & space museum, good food everywhere. It's worth the trip if the only thing you get is a few sticks of landjäger from Willies.

I will have to check that museum out some time. I do like Sullivan's Black Forest neaby. They have a great IPA. It goes good with their prime rib.

There is also a beer "museum" there too. Check out the Bavarian Inn for their beer selection. Great pizza and beer at T. Dubs on main street. Frankenmuth is a great place if you like german beer and/or fudge. Also, there is a lot of beer there.

How do you folks deal with living in such a scary city? All this talk of don't go here or there just makes me wonder. Why the hell can't you go wherever? What will really happen?

Nobody can obviously say you WILL get shot or assaulted anywhere, but there are areas of Saginaw where it is much more likely to happen. Not to say all white people are at risk, but the locals can usually tell who is lost or doesn't belong. This makes said person a target. I say this from experience with Saginaw, I used to live on the southeast side, where if you are white you are a vast minority. There are weekly shootings and robberies(that you hear about). Like you said, all jokes aside, it's a scary place, and a place I don't want my kids growing up in. That's why I moved away, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

You live in Whitehall, do you feel comfortable going to every part of Muskegon?? Same is said of Saginaw...
And realistically, very little is likely to happen. There are places you don't go just to reduce the risk...
