I believe I have one sitting in the corner of my shop that is 36X96 but the top is only 3/8".

It does weigh a ton-

the table at Joe Ramm's is 4'x8' 1/2" top is really really nice.. but im gonna be using it for a long time. :)

Its probably not 5" thick all the way, but has ribs in it, like a big cast then forged piece.. I have a welding table similar to this.

a solid piece of steel 36x72x5 would weigh just under 4000 lbs.
