Oh Christ Bruce stop being such a pansy. Don't pull a knife and charge me and I think you'll be just fine.

If someone pulled a knife, bat, gun, whatever out and threatened me with it my gun would be pulled. Maybe they drop whatever they have and run, in which case I don't shoot. Maybe they don't drop it, and continue to threaten. In that case they will get dropped.

But, I'm sure you've been in so many of these situations and understand that there is plenty of time to sit down and have a discussion with the assailant about what his intentions are.

Or maybe you should stop being such a cowboy thinking you live in the wild west with your gun at your hip ready to shoot your way out of any situation.

But, I'm sure you've been in so many of these situations and understand exactly when you need to pull out your gun and shot someone.

It's sad that instead of seeing the reality of things, you have to jump to extreme conclusions like a typical libtard would.

I'm not a cowboy, I just refuse to be a victim. I've carried a gun at my side for 5 years, and I've never had to draw it. I hope I never have to. It doesn't mean that at the first notion of confrontation I'm going to shoot myself out of the situation. If someone threatens me with a weapon, I think the response will be easy to understand except for you. If someone were to start yelling at me, I'd probably walk away.

I've never been in that type of situation, and I never want to. But I've trained for it. It's pretty obvious to tell when your life is being threatened and when it's not. Then there are individuals such as yourself that want someone to try and figure out if the knife is sharp or not, or if it's a real gun or not that someone is being threatened with before doing something about it. Bitch please...

Maybe you should stop always trying to be the ultimate Devil's Advocate no matter what topic is being discussed.

You're trying to put unrealistic restrictions on someone defending their life. You have no experience, training or knowledge when it comes to this topic and yet you want to sit here and argue with people who do have experience, knowledge AND training for this very thing. You just want to argue and it shows.

I'll be standing by for some witty retort that has nothing to do with anything I just said. It's ok. As long as you feel better that's what counts.

Yes, of course, how unrealistic of me to expect you to determine if what another person who you feel threatened by just pulled from their pocket is actually a weapon that could hurt you. If you think it might be shoot them dead.

And yes, you are correct, in 47 years of life I have never been in a position there I needed to pull out a weapon to defend myself, so I'll leave the discussion to those of you that apparently have been in that situation more often.

And yes, I like to argue, and yes, I feel better.

But remember, the gun/knife fight was just an analogy of the conflict between the USA and North Korea. What is missing from that is that North Korea has a big friend (China) behind then with some awfully big guns.

I love these types of responses from people. The "it's never happened to me, so it must not happen to others."

How does this sound.....

In my 28 years of life, I've never gotten cancer. So therefore no one else must get cancer.

Wait, what? You and SS are saying I shouldn't talk about what I would do if threatened with a weapon, because I have no experience with that type of situation. And yet you can tell me what you would do but admit that you don't have any experience with it either.

How does this sound...

Neither one of us has ever had cancer, but my opinion about what I would do if it happened to me is valid, but yours isn't.

That's not what I said. You left out the two much more important parts of what I said... Knowledge and Training.

When did I admit I have no experience with weapons?

Your response reminded me of individuals who say that there are no need for guns because in their personal experience they've never needed one, so no one else does either.

My analogy in my earlier post was to point out that you're arguing about situations you have no knowledge of, and then are mocking my knowledge and SS's knowledge of it.

Most of the people in this thread are trained on firearms and their use and have their CPLs and/or are also ex-military with tours overseas.

So yes... compared to you... the other people in this thread are subject matter experts and you are the very definition of ignorant.

Quote:

Ig·no·rant
[ig-ner-uhnt]
adjective
1.
lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.
2.
lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics. Matters of self defense
3.
uninformed; unaware.
4.
due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.

When did I say that you admitted to having no experience with weapons?

I said you admitted to never being in a situation where you had to use a weapon to defend yourself, which you did:

I train for it, and regularly take classes with real world simulations. I would tend to think that makes me a little more versed in the subject than you, but I must be wrong. Maybe if I played devil's advocate all the time, I could be well versed in all areas of life.
