I have not ordered yet, I called yesterday and the guy seemed very friendly and seemed to know his product.

That said I'm very ill informed still on how a transmission works so he could have been speaking Greek and I would have agreed with him. I still refer to the process that happens between the engine and transfer-case as magic..

After more and more reading looks like ATS is top dog in the Torque Converter world.

With a 5 year 500,000 mile warranty I guess I'll go that route.

Gonna be about two weeks and I'll have the new stuff

Nope it's still holding strong I drive nice with the trailer on.

I didn't realize the warranty they had.

I had the money for it but then I broke the dakota. Never fails to be something it seems

My Dodge started with a shudder when towing or putting any kind of torque down, it got worse then I dropped the pan and my trans was full of metal shavings. I drove it like that until I sold it and as far as shifting, it shifted great, but I'm sure at some point if the previous owner would have put a stronger converter in it when it first started shuddering then it may have messed up the whole trans.

You are the first that I know of to have a shudder in a 68RFE converter. Congrats. I would for sure recommend the ATS or Suncoast. I would say ATS first though. Upgrade your flexplate too while you have it out. Seen lots of broken stock flexplates when adding more power. my $.002.

I would never replace a stock converter with a dual disk without putting a billet input shaft. You shatter the stocker and send piece through the trans you'll see why.
