Default Bicycle Torture Chamber

I've been training this winter for a few rides this summer and was wondering what everybody else's training chambers look like?

Super high tech? Michigan Basement? Some where between?

Here is mine. Tucked away in one of many basements here at Camp. This is where we keep our matresses for the winter as well as our Golf Carts. I just recently started using The Sufferfest Videos as training aids. So far so painful. Been kicking my butt.

I also decided to enjoy the beautiful weather today and train out side under one of our HVAC unit's repair shanty.

Just wondering if anybody else has a sweet place they like to train in?

I had mine set up in the basement in front of my TV. I pulled it off the trainer last week and have been hitting the road. Under armor and shoe covers are awesome, way better than killing yourself indoors.

I give you guys a lot of respect, there is no way I could EVER sit and spin on a trainer all day, I have a hard enough time considering going for a road ride or a gravel road ride with out having boredom over come me.

My training so far this winter has focused a lot around weight loss and efficency, trying to get down to 10% body fat (I figure its a good goal, the lower my % bodyfat is the better shape I must be in lol). For DH I don't sit and spin in the saddle for miles on end, our races are pretty much 8 hours of practice over rough terrain, so endurance is important in a different way. Race day is a few practice runs and then waiting your turn for a while, then a 5 minute sprint.

For the most part I have been focusing on overall body strength, endurance, and core strength, not to mention flexibility.

Usually looks like 3-4 days a week of functional weight training and some crossfit variations. 1-2 days a week at planet fitness on the treadmill doing intervals.

I can't wait for the weather to break so I can start riding my bike!

I give them credit too. I've got one of those hydraulic resistance gizmos too. I used it for one winter and hated it. I should probably sell it.....

Those are some nice training areas!

I'm so jealous that some of you have been on the road. I can't wait to get off the trainer but I have to mount my new wheels first. The ones I'm using now are shot for any load bearing purposes. I plan on rebuilding them this next winter.

I also have to wait for it to get a little lighter in the morning. The only time I can afford to work out is before work. Usually starting at 5Am (the pictures from yesterday where on my day off). There isn't enough light for riding on the road yet. Even with lights I wouldn't feel safe in this area with all it's 'hills'.

Its been easier to get out after work since the time change. As long as there isn't snow on the road I'm outside. I don't trust people as a general rule, so I don't like early morning rides even with lights.

It's going to rain. Maybe I should fix my derailleur and we should go hit bass creek or Yankee even.

I'm getting pretty close to hitting the road. Looking forward to it!

Mostly for our 150+ seasonal housing. Our summer camp program has it's own housing, apart from our 'modern' cabins, in the back woods. 7 Tipi's and 7 Miners tents. ~15-20 kid per.

Get out there already! Anything over 43 you don't need shoe covers or a jacket, just full under armor.

x500. If I had a road bike and a place to ride one (I'm not a huge fan of trusting rednecks and ignorant fucks in cars) I probably would have started riding weeks ago.
