Default Exhaust setups

I seached and couldnt find this... I want a muffler with a nice low tone but not super loud or expensive. Under $100.00 Also im thinking of taking the rear axle back pipe off and doing a turndown..anyone ever done this? id like a 45* to the side so its not straight out ot straight down. Jeeps look goofy with a single pipe and no tip IMO. Thanks

You are wrong, it will resonate in your tub so F'ing bad that no one will want to ride with you, trust me. Just get a bigger shiny tip to put out the back and it will look better.

x2 I did the same thing, i didnt wanna keep the stock exhaust all the way back with my Body lift cuz the pipe stuck out too far so i cut it off just after the muffler to put a turndown.... and about 10 minutes later i found myself goin to weld it back on...

I put a short cherry bomb on mine. 4.0L and it sounds pretty good. Not loud or obnoxious.

Let the exhaust exit out the back or you will be quickly annoyed. I have a glasspack like starting line and it sounds great. And I have not bought a glassback since back in the day, I know it sounds cheezy but they sounds pretty good and you pick up noticeable acceleration.

Flowmaster F40 is about $40 bucks just about anywhere, but definately don't want to terminate it under the jeep or even to the side. way too much resonation. my CJ had duals that terminated under the rocker panels just before the rear tire, gave me a head ache any time I drove more than 20 mins.

you will definetly smell the fumes if you put it out the side. it will also be very loud. i got a masterflow (same design as flowmaster will all the baffles fully welded too) from auto value for $60. sounds sweet.

i agree with the whole not terminateing under the jeep.....my muffler fell off of my yj and my cheap fix was get a $20 muffler and clamp it on to the pipe after the cat and leave it......bad idea....its loud and now instead of wearing my hearing protection at work i leave it in the jeep.....i get funny looks but im poor and dont have time to fix it right now
