Firehawk did an awesome job on my YJ...

Maybe I'm confused about michigan insurance law. I thought we were a no-fault state meaning your insurance covers your damage since it wasn't your fault. I do not believe they can increase your rate either since you were not at fault.

B.

1. It's just a car, I know you want it fixed right, but sometimes a botched body job is better then a neighborhood fued.

2. No money out of your pocket, no long term insurance issues, no record of the event, etc.

3. The neighbor is offering what he can, it's a nice gesture, sometimes accidents happen and you've already called the cops on him.

I had the same issue when a pizza guy hit my car. Because we are no fault and he has no insurance its on you. I would turn it in because your insurance company already knows it happened and its in their records. Yes, it could affect your rates and it sucks. Now if your deductible is 1g to have it fixed i would just find a cheaper solution and fix it without insurance. To be honest a 2006 trailblazer is not worth anything and dumping a ton of money into it is counterproductive. Im trying to sell my 2006 right now it sux.

The funny thing is it was cheaper to insure a 2009 gmc yukon denali xl than my 2006 trailblazer lt. I think trailblazers are hated by insurance co.

i know its a 2006 but only 60,000 miles and it dosnt have a scratch in it '"until now" and still worth 6 to 7 as trade in and prob could get 8,000 out right so to me its worth fixing right even if i pay for it.

firehawk send me a pm with your # and ill give u a call and get your opinion and a price thank you.

i have been nice about whole thing to him and so far everything he has said has been a lie so not expecting much more from him and its getting old, dont drive without insurance the end. cops were called because my insurance said they needed a report otherwise i wouldnt have done that cause i didnt want him to get a ticket. that made no diff to me i only care about my wifes car. as far as his feeling, he fukc up, his fault, he gets butt hurt over this in the end well it is what it is not my concern.

way i was told by insurance is cause it was parked and noone inside his insurance would pay it even being plpd since he is 100% at fault. otherwise any other accident is payed by yours but not shure of the fine print part lol.

Hmm, the no-fault and minitort laws will prevent you from going to court and getting anything more than $500 from him. Thats the laws here.

You carry insurance on your car to fix your car. His insurnace won't pay for your damages. You can sue them for up to $500 maximum.

If you don't carry collision, you aren't getting it paid by insurance, except for the $500 max under mini tort.

EDIT: They just changed the law a few months back to allow you sue for up to $1000, instead of $500

They don't increase your rates because of the accident they increase because a series of things put you in a high risk category. Its a fukc you back door.

Regardless of the other person having no insurance if you have insurance you are covered.
If you have no collision insurance then that is the choice you made on your policy.
Your neighbor has no legal obligation to fix your shit. If you get along with him then get over it and let it be. If you don't get along with him just avoid inviting him over to future bbq's

well im guess im going to pay out of my pocket and see if he ever gives me a dime. the laws are total bs as usuall. by him driving without insurance they should take the car and auction it off and the state get the money for him not following the rules and same with everyone else. we all pay more to cover the uninsured motorest but when do we get a break? but instead i see him still driving the car every day to work and i know he has no insurance lol. i feel better now thanks guys

If you plan on paying out of pocket, why not try plan B first? Maybe plan B will work and you would be happy with it.

If not, then you can pay out of pocket to have someone else re-fix it.

Bingo.

Check out his family members body shop and work.

More then one shop can do quality body work, I have worked at several.

If I was trying to help my family member avoid a court case I would fix your tb just like it was any other job. To the best of my ability.

only reason im hesating on B. is and i dont mean to be rude but there from the land of barter to get what u want and cutting cornor and do what ever they can to get something for less. well usually the only thing u get for less at a body shop is alot of bondo. better to get quality work. that is what worries me to death. otherwie i would be all over that and this wouldnt have ever been posted.
