If you want to still use the bed, a hide a ball system like B&W is a great option.

This. I do a lot of these. More stable too, not relying on brackets to hold rails on other styles.

This x1million. They are pricey, but I have never regretted spending the money for this set-up. Not having rails in the bed and having the fifth wheel option is awesome.

I have the companion 5th wheel insert I would consider selling for $500. They sell for $750+. You would just need to get the turnover ball hitch.

I went with the blue ox hitch on my new truck.

It was a little less expensive and I figured if I was going to drag myself up into the bed to flip a ball over I would at least eliminate the reaching into a muddy fender twice to lock and unlock the pin. It was easy to install also, no bed lifting or notching on my ram 2500.
