Default Impromptu trip to Bundy Hill?

Hi all,

I am new to this site -- I am an auto writer who reviews cars for a living. I've got a Jeep Wrangler this week and want to take it out and get it muddy so I can write a review. This would be my first time heading to Bundy Hill, and I'm wondering if any of you all are heading out there on Wednesday? I know it's a week day and it's sort of an odd request, but I can't find any of my regular driving pals to go with me. Only have the truck until Friday, so I'm trying to squeeze this in before they take the car away from me.

If Bundy is closed during the week try the Mounds in Mt Morris. But definitly don't go to the Mounds without another vehicle, preferably someone that knows the park.

Guess it's obvious I'm not a 'park wheeler'

Ah, so I'm sorry I missed all this chatter. I ended up going to Chrysler's proving grounds in Chelsea and riding some of their trails in the back for a story I'm doing. I don't (yet) own my own Jeep, but I do test drives for work so I have been offroading a bit. I did the Land Rover off roading school in North Carolina, and take Jeeps out whenever I get a chance.

Today I was out in the 2013 Wrangler Sahara and the 2013 Rubicon 50th anniversary edition. Was a heck of a lot of fun. I'm saving up my pennies so I can get my own Wrangler some day soon.

This is the one I was test driving -- I will post my review if y'all are interested once it's up:

You should have invited her over some wheeling and beer and invited me too.
What were you thinking?

Nope, not at all....

Article 1 / video
Article 2 / slide show

And for Sharon; Rectangular headlamps were not an option in 1986. 1986 was the last year for the Jeep CJ, which had round headlamps, and 1987 was the first for the Jeep YJ, which had rectangular headlamps. Holdover 86's and early 87's were both on the dealer lots at the same time.

I'm guessing the Chrysler employee that passed on that bit of info was just weaning or maybe hadn't been born yet.

PS: The next time they throw you the keys to a Jeep, take it to Silver Lake sand dunes for the weekend.
