Ya, trying to help Jay clear things out. Hopefully we can get those hooks and plates finished and start bending some tube for the frt bumper. Have a killer design in mind. The material you used for your skid. Can you get me some and $$$

I'll check into what is out at the shop, should be plenty of options. Get me a rough size estimate and I'll see what's laying around. Should have some stainless in the scrap rack, save you some money.

Been a while , and not much done. I did get a chance to replace the head and go over the rest of engine. Should be back on road by spring and ready to wheel.

Here's the tire carrier. It was featured in JP mag, and had a great write up.

Glad to hear the motor turned out to be simple. Will be nice to have you back out on the trails.

I needed to tear into it just to put my mind at ease. I'll be dropping the pan next, cleaning that mess up , changing pump/ pick up. Replacing rear main seal.
I noticed some play in the bearing of water pump too, so it's on the list as well.
Basically everything but rotating assy. Lol

I don't blame you at all. I would have done the same to be sure. You never know until you get into it. The list is growing quickly, lol!

Your brother have any extra parts , from his project? I've been accumulating as much as I can for this thing.
Thinking of getting it back to Jay's to tear apart suspension and steering. Oh and front brakes are locked up, (that was a fun ride home) upgrade for those as well.

Yikes! That would certainly make for a fun ride home. I will talk to him. Last I heard he was going to drop a new motor and lift on it so he has a trail truck. His son has really gotten into working on the trucks and playing on the trails. I'll find out for sure though

Best of all was Eagan's reaction to Death Wobble. Lol
The brakes slowly freezing up happened each time DW occurred. It was than I realized I now own a bigger pile than Chewy XJ was.lol
