Default ORV Trail recommendations

Hello All! Iím looking through the Michigan trail map website and Iím a little lost. Iím planning a trip up to your great state this Memorial day weekend. We will be bringing 2 Jeeps and a Rail buggy.

We are looking to ride south of the UP. I see a lot of 4x4 trails there, but Iím unsure where I should go. Can any one recommend a few good ones? We plan on staying at a hotel so something fairly close to civilization is a plus. My buggy only has a 5gal tank so having good access to gas station would be nice.

Thanks!!

Lake county systems are flat and wide but nice trails with decent sights. If you are looking for trail and some open places to play look at St. Helen. It is the only public land with a scramble area and a rock course. Below is the link to the trail map including scramble area. If the buggy is plated you can run the fire roads and seasonal roads around the area, the dashed lines on the map.

I you are wearing a license plate on your truck or buggy, there are a lot of what we call "state forest roads" in the St Helen area that do not offer much in the way of technical challenges, but aren't a bad way to spend the day after you are done playing at the motor sport area.
