The amazing thing is, even after posting that, my opinion of you couldn't get any lower. Not that a fucking moron like you would give a shit anyway.

Romans 1:26 This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions.(AS) For even their females exchanged natural sexual relations[p] for unnatural ones. 27 The males in the same way also left natural relations[q] with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Males committed shameless acts with males(AT) and received in their own persons[r] the appropriate penalty of their error.

As a conservative I don't think it's the Federal government's business to care what consenting adult marries what other consenting adult or adults. I don't see "defining marriage" or "identifying suitable marriage partners" among the Enumerated Powers, which means it's up to the states.

I am against the SCOTUS creating legislation by the court - they need to decide that it's up to the states and get out of it.

Personally, let 'em get married - provided:
1) "Domestic partner" benefits that apply to same-sex (but not different sex) partners are eliminated.
2) Any church that elects not to perform these ceremonies is not to be harassed, sued, etc... if it doesn't fit with their beliefs.
3) It's a legal marriage - with all that implies vis-a-vis divorce and property settlement. Maybe some gender-blindness would improve some biased rules.

I would change my profile pic in a second if this was to ban ALL marriages. For this situation I really couldn't care less.

If somebody like dudes, great.
If somebody likes broads, great. I doesn't bother me.

I find the whole Facebook activist thing to be bandwagonish and silly. If you want change and awareness then do something about it. Putting up a symbol or a picture isn't action or raising awareness.

If the DNR devised a plan to shut down every orv trail and recreational area in the state, would everybody start posting symbols and other shit online to raise awareness of the issue? No, because it wouldn't do shit and they know it. People would be hitting the pavement and making things happen.

Actions get results. Passive participation does not.

Let them get married. I say they should suffer along with the rest of us. I'm just too lazy to change my profile pic.

A lot of people here are missing the point. I am very religious and I support Gay marriage in the United States. I support this because I believe that they are not really married in God's eyes. They do not receive the HOLY MATRIMONY that God gives you when you are married in the Church. LEGALLY nowhere in the Constitution or any Federal law does it say that Marriage is between a man and a woman. In fact the Constitution says "All men are created EQUAL"

There is a huge difference between Holy Matrimony and Marriage. Marriage is just a legal term and a tax write-off. Who cares who is legally "together" by not letting them marry, you are just going to make them get louder and more obnoxious than they are now and they are not going to stop fucking each other just because they cannot get married. Who gives a fukc if they have a paper that says they are legal. Let them suffer like the rest of us.

Now on the other hand you can see how people who want to marry children will step up or Steveo will want to marry his favorite sheep. There needs to be clear distinctions in the law. MY idea would be:

Any adult above the age of 18 can marry any other adult above the age of 18
Any person wishing to marry below the age of 18 may do so if and only if they are above the age of 16 and have consent of their parents or legal guardians.

I like how this thread started as a respectful question but was quickly turned into the OP using it as an excuse to be just as intolerant and disrespectful of conservative beliefs as a hardcore back woods hillbilly is of liberal beliefs.

You're right they may not be married in God's eyes..... But being a religious person, is this what you would support for your country, a "Christian Nation, under God"??

This whole likeing a picture thing reminds me of the kony shit that was going around on Facebook like astro glide at a gay rights parade.

Was huge for a couple weeks now it's Joseph kony? Who's that
It's all a bunch of hype they will get what they want so the libs can get their vote later on
Remember when we pass gay marriage law for ya well we want your vote now.

I really could give two shits if sausage slammers and carpet munchers wanna marry it's what ever but to me it's just like the whole church thing yes I believe in god and go to church but I hate when people press there views

The USA is NOT a Christian Nation, the founders did not frame the Constitution or the Government to be of Christian ideals, they did the farthest thing from it and separated church and state.

Under God was added to the pledge in 1954 by congress. USA was not founded "under God" and you assume it is the Christian God? Why not the Muslim god? Or the water god or whatever other god.
