the last one i did i pulled a huge lead on my gf for the first .5k. then by the 1.5k sign she passed me. spent the rest of the race walking and chatting it up with the old ladys in the back of the pack.

It beats sitting on your ass and you almost had Olympic race walking speed. I can't talk crap though because my speed right now wouldn't be better. I ran a half mile last Sunday and my dog went into asshole mode but I'm not sure i was making it much father

so how i prepared for this race.

1. girlfriend asked me if i wanted to do it
2. i replied sure
3. decided i was going to train by running a couple times a week a month in advance
4. compleatly skipped all the training
5. bought running shoes the day before the race
6. woke up early, took my daily vitamins, dropped the cosby kids off at the pool, and ate a cereal bar.
7. completed race with determination
8. sore as fukc today...

actually it was a bit of an experiment to see how well crossfit works for increasing overall fitness particularly on the cardiovascular/aerobic side of things.

I think the fastest 5k I ran last summer (just running I don't race) was around a 21-22 minute. I should be there by the third or 4th time I run this year.

Good run man, I ran a mock 5k today with my dog and 8 year old. Dog stopped to pee lots and my boy was walking mostly after mile 1. My time sucked balls.
