Are these the same on YJ half doors? I don't have a door key at all. You said up to'90. Mine is a '92. What's the difference?

These have the larger face plates, larger alignment tabs on the side, and use a one edge key. Half doors have smaller face plates, smaller alignment tabs, and use the two edge plastic handled key.

If I remember correctly, my key was single edge. I know that my ignition key looks just like a CJ one, and I thought the door key did as well. I will look up both the CJ and YJ ones and see which ones I have. Thanks

Believe YJ's went to the two edge key for everything in 91. I'll check and see if these cylinders fit on my half doors. Never tried it before.

Ok so I tried to put these in the half doors and it's a no go. Hole in the door is way to small for these lock cylinders.

Oh OK. Well thanks for trying. I just remembered that I replaced my column with a '90 model one. I'm not sure about the door key. I might have never even had one.

These won't work with my old late 70s cj7 doors will they?
If so I'm interested in just the door ones

Will fit 76 and up CJ & YJ. I really don't want to seperate since they are all keyed alike and I don't have any use for it. The tailgate cylinder is actually just a door cylinder. It's identical to the the other ones. You could keep it for a spare. I'm already selling them for less than what I paid.
