How are the airbags attached to the axle? A bracket that is welded to the axle that extends down and back? Like a shelf off the back of the axle?

yes exactly, i am a little concerned about it putting added stress on the poly bushings in the links because they are mounted behind the axle so they are always trying to rotated pinion up but i figured we will see how long the poly bushings last, it will prob be fine.

The truck looks great. How well does the offset wishbone upper link control the axle? I was really wanting to do a airbag wishbone 4 link on the rear of my 97 with the stock tank. I am lifted about 8"

Looks pretty much the same, drive it daily except in the winter. got a winter beater so I didn't have to drive it in the salt.

needs stiffer motor mounts, I used stock first gen rubber mounts and the motor moves too much. 4.10 still suck with 28" tires.

getting a little bored with it, toyed with the idea of raising up to stock height and trying to squeeze some 35's on it and go for the chase truck look. but who knows.

Time for a change. Got 35's on it and it is still lowered. Still gotta flare out the bedsides a couple inches and build some bumpers.

Awesome build. I may have some questions for you soon as I'm about ready for the same swap. Mine is a diesel truck though so it may be slightly easier.

yes I would think your swap will be easier starting with a diesel truck.

I take it you trimmed the front fender to fit the 35?

they are fiberglass fenders on the front, no trimming to the fender but quite a bit of work to the inner fender structure to clear 35. I don't have a pic but the stock rear bedsides are now pulled out a couple inches to clear the tires and full bump.

Think a 35 would tuck on a 3500 dually stock height to lightly lifted? Ie crank torsion bars

depends on wheel offset and width of tire, and if you plan on turning sharp.

on another note my torsion bar crossmember took a shit, and could not find a replacement, so I bought a new one from gm for a new body style duramax worked out real slick it cleared the tcase with no mods, the original one I had to clearance to clear tcase. also took out the one ton torsion bars and put in half ton torsion bars rides even nicer now.

Hmm, I'll have to consider that. I've been toying with going to single tires on my 98 3500 dually. It has a dually width service box on it, so I'm not sure how it'd look. It already has 4.10's which the current 225s aren't cutting the mustard I don't think I'll ever overload a single rear tire load range E on it, but I never know...
