I have 2 22r's a 22re and a 20r all run great with little to no maintenance. Some go months between running and fire right up.

Check the air flow meter, mine did the same thing for a while. I pulled the meter apart and adjusted it, and it fixed it, the springs wear out and so does the sensor on top. the motors are great, just stupid electronics.

I just bought the one on here with 51k miles on it, been sitting for about 10 years they said. put a battery in it and gas and it started right up.. then changed the fuel pump a fuel line and flushed the tank. I think I need a new tank, andsending unit, have to find one, probably going to do the plugs cap/rotor too, it runs good but idles low like 500 rpms. shouldn't it idle about 850rpm? it's a 1994 22r, might be re have to look. Anything else I should check .. oh ya changed the oil first thing forgot to say that. Can't find the fuel filter though, where is it at?

I found the fuel filter by the starter, also see it's a 22RE motor in it.
Any recommendations for shocks?

My 22RE ran with almost all the electrodes burned off. It was starting to lose power going up hill. I was amazed it ran like it did.

Bilstein 5100s on my Tacoma and I love them!
