Default need some insight on amps and subs for a boat

Guys im looking for an amp and subs for a boat. I have been hearing good things about RE audio subs, and Hifonics amps. Has anyone messed with either brand or are familiar with them?

The Brutus line of hifonics amps are cea-2006 certified so it is putting out what it says it is, the lower lines of them are not and are the typical overrated so-so you get slightly less than what you pay for amps. Although if you are getting it for a boat and not getting marine grade components I'd go cheap because it will probably get toasted. I would think that a sub with anything but a paper cone/center cap would be OK.
