Default header or manifold help....

Trying to find just the right header or manifolds for my buggy.

That is what i got. I more or less need something that dumps more straight back. My upper link mounts interfere on both sides, and on the drivers side everything pretty much interferes. I was looking at bbk mustang 5.8 headers. But not sure the drivers side would work and dont wanna commit to the purchase without knowing.

Short of building custom headers anybody got any ideas?

I was looking at crossing the left side over the top of the trans to the right. Similar to this idea....

I would stick with manifolds. Headers suck they're hot and they leak. If you did run the crossover over the trans could you use your stock manifolds? as long as you wrapped the crossover i think you would be okay.

I don't think the over the trans is a bad way either.

Look at street rod type headers from Hooker, Heddman and Sanderson. They offer different configurations and give pretty decent dimensions in their catalogs.

I have sanderson headers on the BBF, they were the only ones I could find that even looked like they would work.

How about these

The pass header would work great, if only the drivers matched...

John, I have a set of 289 maniflods I bought off somebody here that basicly shoot straight at the firewall. I can take a pic if you are interested.

Or look into some older 60's or 70's stuff.

Thats a pic I stole from Dearborn Classis site. Factory 289/302 manifolds for non-HiPo Mustangs. 2 studs with a donut inbetween. The outlet is kinda small, maybe around 2" but looks like plenty of metal to open them up a touch.
