An intruder was sent to the hospital after he was shot by a homeowner while breaking into her home late Wednesday night.

It happened around midnight when an Ingham County woman opened fire on an intruder at her home on the 4200 block of West Holt Road, a few blocks from Cedar Street in Holt.

The suspect was male and was shot multiple times. He had injuries to his stomach as well as his hands.

Inside the home were a woman, man, and several children. At this time officials tell us that no one else in the home was hurt.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is in surgery and is currently listed in critical condition.

Investigators are still piecing together how the man broke into the home and whether he had a weapon.

I can't believe they labeled him a victim!! A victim of what? His own stupidity and greed? If he worked for his stuff and didn't go robbing homes he wouldn't be a "victim".

So is she still a hero?

http://www.wlns.com/story/21294071/woman

Investigators say they arrived to find the suspect handcuffed just inside the front door and that he had also apparently been beaten with a baseball bat.

The 20-year-old suspect is in critical condition with bullet wounds to his shoulder, torso, and hand.

The homeowners and four kids inside the house were not hurt.

Deputies got a search warrant for the house and say they found a marijuana growing operation and that they found "a lot" of pot in the house.

So the Tri-County Metro Narcotics team is investigating, as well.

well, she protected her home, children, and drugs.

I guess I am good with that since 2/3 are legal things to protect.

What are the odds that she wouldn't have had to protect the first two without the third though? Plus who the hell leaves the door unlocked when you have a large grow operation.
