Default A build that ScOoTeR will love..1960 chevy c-10

Well i picked up a 1960 chevy apache c-10 pick up back in august. I wanted something to bring back to life and oh boy did i find.

It was built in Kansas City and from there went to Colorado. it was sold to an old farmer in Colorado who owned it from 1960 till 1980. In 1980 a guy from Alpena, Mi bought and drove it home, he was based in Colorado when he was in the military. From 1980 till now it has been in Michigan and some of the body shows it.

My plans are to clean up alot of it and get it back on the road running and driving i don't plan to paint it up all nice, i would like to keep with the patina look, lower it a bit and then probably swap motors.

Currently it has a 1977 Pontiac V-8 in it.
Torsion bar front end
And i will be keeping the trailing arm rear setup.

loaded it on the trailer and brought it home

From there i started tear down. First in order was to try and see if i could get this old motor running, and with a little starting fluid it fired right up and ran pretty good for not being started in 8 to 10 years.

At this point i kinda had an idea of everything that i needed to gather to get this truck back in order so i started searching and i found some doors that are really clean and ended up buying another truck for parts.

From the parts truck i got....
-New rear suspension
-New box
-inner fenders
-outer fenders
-core support
-and alot of other little parts

FYI rust holes are not attractive nor are they considered patina, surface rust yes, holes no...and that thing looks like a giant rust bucket full of holes...so with that being said good luck with your build and I hope it turns out sweet...because it would be badass if you could pull it off

I'm not a fan of that look either to be honest. Sometimes it can look good, but most of the time I don't think it does.

As for rust holes, any that are present will be repaired my new doors, box, inner and outer fenders are rust free. Also forgot to mention that this thing has torsion bar front end.

I agree that rust holes don't really go with the patina look, and the patina look is not for everyone, but, a few small non-structural rust holes and a nice patina (even if it's diffferent colors) are WAY better on a running driving "work in progress" rig than flawless bodywork on a 60% done rig sitting in a garage waiting on the last 40% of nickel and dime shit to get done before it can be enjoyed.

Basically, get it structurally sound, slammed, and driveable first, then pick one area at a time to get redone until the entire thing is ready to be torn down again for nice paint.

My goal is to get the cab back in order so it can go back on and be driven
