Default Restaurants in Lansing/el

Going to msu for the weekend to see the fiance. Our 4th anniversary is tomorrow. I wanted to take her to dinner Saturday night, but wanted to do something different than the typical chains we go to (Logan's, Texas road house, etc)

I'm sure some of you guys have recommendations. I am tempted to take her to Frank's press box, but haven't been there in 7-8 years, and think I might want to go somewhere s little nicer.

Italian or steak place preferred, but I'm open for other options. (Just not one of those ridiculously priced places... want to try to keep the bill under $60 pre tip on the high end)

Bring a pack of hot dogs and a stick this weekend.
The retards are buring stuff again up there.
It's basket ball season.

Try Leo's Lodge on Pennsylvania North of 496.

Well they closed the Whitecastle on the south side, try out Eastwood Town Center for options or Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe.

Cugino's in Grand Ledge is a favorite of the wife and I
Real good food, calzones are the bomb
Gets super busy! Expect to wait a little
Then go next door and watch a $2.00 movie at the Sun Theater
http://www.cuginosmenu.com/
http://www.grandledgesun.com/

Falsettas in Lansing is another good Italian resturant/bar
http://www.falsettascasanova.com/

These are nothing fancy and dinners are usually $10 or less
Just real great food at both places

That's why I'm asking now, planning on trying to make reservations somewhere.

There's nothing but chains in Lansing, so good luck finding a quality restaurant.

The best food I ever had in EL on a saturday night was Bell's Greek Pizza or Mennas. Alcohol may have been a factor though.

This is another good local italian option. It is family owned and the food is great.

I would still recommend Gilbert and Blakes over everything else though for a special anniversary date.

Not to mention she hates that place. Always says crap about it doesn't even taste Chinese or something. I just take her word since she has the Asian in her... I put the Dutch in ;)

I don't think the bar is set too high.
