The Singly (DD/Tow rig for now)

Sold my legacy on monday, bought this tuesday off a friend.

The short story behind the name is what I started calling it after my buddy blew a tire on the highway, and stuck some 265 or so single rear tires on it. Dually to singly (pronounced single-E)

1994 3500 ram cummins 12v 2wd.

Tranny was just rebuilt, 142k on the clock.

Just finished putting a 4" straight pipe exhaust on it this morning, and fixed the dipstick tube on the tranny because it was leaking.

Fixed the sticking throttle with new return springs thurs night.

Gave the thing a good wash, scrubbed out the interior, waxed the gold one night this week.

On the slate right now now:
A pillar gauge pod with boost, trans temp, and egt gauge
Aftermarket stereo (currently had one out of a newer dodge that sort of works
Deep chest toolbox
Some other little odds and ends

Very nice rig. Staying with singles or going back to duals once you get some rubber?

Having singles in the rear is nice but whatever you do don't go with super singles. Not only does it look goofy as heck on a 1 ton but when those babys blow watch out.

Fender, tire, rim, breaks, and whatever else that tire manages to grab will be gone is a few seconds. That and they are horrible in the snow/rain.

Looks like it will be a very simple reliable tow rig.

He bought new rubber, back on dually. The name stuck.

Drive it to pj hoffmaster and back today, ran like a champ. Might need an alignment (might want to put some new steering components on before that, a lot looks original)

Painted grille and put some spare leds behind it pointing towards the radiator... Make great work light in a pinch.

Replaced a bunch of the front end components this week, getting an alignment this afternoon

Finally got all my gauges installed, as well as the on board air... and some air horns hooked up stealthily through the normal horn button. Oem horns were about shot :p

No pics cause phone was almost dead.

Need to order a new ofv and do brakes. Tax return can't come quick enough.
