Default think you could fix it with out a hammer? pic added

Im at work right now will post a pic asap but i got in an accident a few weeks ago with my xj. My drivers door took most the impact but my rocker is all tore up along with the piece directly above it were there is black plastic (were you step to get in) is bent up slightly. Door wont close all the way. Main question is the black plastic piece. If you think you can fix it and relativley close to lake orion, pm me.

Since you're asking an online group of hill jacks I'm assuming it doesn't have collision insurance? I would suggest getting a big hammer, maybe a block of wood as a dolly to get it straight. I'd imagine getting it repaired "right" would be $$$.

id set a 4x4 across the length of the inner door jam, duct tape it in place, and start tapping with a sledge hammer- harder swings til it gets where you want it. If you're really worried asbout the outcome, heat the paint up with a heat gun so it doesn't chip any more.

JCWhitney sells patch panels for them. But right now I would take a 2x4 and then lay it down and use a BFH to beat it down for right now.

your link isn't to a pic, it's an attempt to link to something in your live.com login.

this site itself has an image gallery for each account, or you can drag and drop from your computer to a site like www.imgur.com - then copy the link from their and paste it here.

Im giving you shit because it is more than likely a 90's something wrecked sub $2000 Michigan Jeep and you are worried about the plastic door plate.

Anyways the plastic plate is only bent because your door sill is bent up. Simply remove the sill plate (4 visible screws) and pound the door sill back flat or at least until the door closes. Then readjust the door latch until the door closes and locks easily. Then reattach your sill plate and carry on with your day.

Or if it breaks and you can't find one in a junk yard or if you cant get it flat enough to close the door with the plate on, do this

If you want it replaced I can do that for you. I am in Clawson, its just on the south end of Troy.

Or if you just want it adjusted too.
