Default Dell Support sucks !

I buy this brand new fuckin computer from those cocksuckers ! and the god damn screen saver dont work ! so i call Award winning cutomer suuport and go jump through all the hoops of their automated phone system, only to be transfered to a technician like i wanted in the 1st place, then this bitch tells me that to get tech support with software you have to purchase some BS Software SUPPORT PLAN $100 or $250.. i'm like well i got the 1 yr at home service and support with the computer, the bitch tells me that does'nt cover software! So i just wasted an hr of my night for no reason and im pissed off now !!! Lesson learned here: Fuck dell im not buying their shit ever again !
On a side note does anyone know wy my screen saver wouldnt be comin on ? (its been like this since i opened the box and hooked it up for the 1str time !)
and yes i check to make sure the Screen Saver is turned on and it aint set for 15464 min.

Does the screen blank out instead of going to the animated fish(or whatever) or does the GL4x4 page stay on all the time? If your screen just goes blank then yhe time for the monitor energy saving feature is less than the time for the screen saver. If screen never changes, screen saver might be disabled, I'll have to look at my other laptop to see what you need to do in XP to turn it on. The one I'm using now has Win2k and no screen savers loaded.

this is my theory on computers. Have someone custom build them for you. My brother in law is head on IT at Lincoln highschool on Willis. He has built my computers for the last 5 years and i have never had a major problem, but when i have a small issue hes always willing to help my out. Now everyone cant be in that situation but look around at the smaller computer companys, like when i bought my laptop i bought mine from a small company,( and it should arive today ) www.cyberpowerinc.com. Everything that went on the laptop i picked out from harddrive size to memory, to a lot of other things. I needed a laptop to be able to run programs like autocad and catia, if i went to a store to buy what i needed it would have cost me just about $2000. Now the laptop that i bought cost me just a little over $1300 and i got everything that i wanted.

Check your power settings before you complain about a screensaver not coming up, usually factory settings are really low

skooter....wtf do you need a laptop to run catia for? an engineering student won't use any program that isn't available on campus

Ill give you gateways service anyday... I will NEVER buy another one of their products. My computer was sent in for the same problems 15 times -- literally. I threatened lawsuit finally to get it replaced... and that computer fried its battery in a year

I bypassed all this bullshirt by building two Linux boxes for my main puters, using one (Gateway PIII-450, 40 gig HD) as a file server, other one (Celeron 800, 20 gig HD) as primary web surfer, couple of pawn shop Winblows laptops for around the house and garage use, all wireless....

Yes i checked those already.. and the screen stays on and everything, just the screen saver dont come on...

and to everyone.. MY point is you buy a product with warranty from a well known company like dell you should get better service then them just trying to sell you more shit. If the product comes with a problem right out of the box, regardless of a warranty or not the right thing to do would be to fix the problem..
But people arent like that and alls they care about is getting money so i know that wont happen

Hint for Dell (and others) with outsourced / offshored support lines.

Claim to be hard of hearing, and ask to be transferred immediately to a U.S. representative. Most companies are so hyper-sensitive to appearing non-accomodating of the physically challenged that they will transfer you with minimum fuss.

Bought the 3-year Dell coverage for my daughter's laptop - and it's paid off so far...

I love how people's inability to learn to operate and/or setup a computer means the manufacturer sucks
