Probably jumped off of something, ours is fearless and will jump off the bed if he is in a hurry, but we have stairs for him to use that he rally likes.

I think that's probably what my Yorkie did. Jumped out of the car the other day and started yelping. I picked him and pulled on his leg a little bit and felt something pop, he quit yelping. He limped around for a few days off and on and seems to be fine now.

Glad that he wasn't broken.

Something to keep a eye on is his weight though. If he's a true mini, breed standard says 8-11 lbs. Our mini was up to about 14 until we put her on diet dog food, and just that little bit of weight will play hell on the legs and backs. Granted your guy is only 12 lbs now but he's also only 15 months old, and each pound over is equivalent to being 10% overweight so it ads up quick.

Whoa, now I know what the offspring would be if a mini slept with my dog
