Seems kinda shady to me.
Wholesale account for an auction vehicle. Since everybody seems comfy on unemployment, it has been hard find a qualified person with even the most basic mechanical skill. As far as quality, I supervise everything an make sure the job is done to my satisfaction. Poor quality work will not be released from the shop and infinity that for safety issues.

Why the 'tude? Because I expect people to be well groomed and presentable for a job interview even for a lowly mechanic's position? I don't expect spot labor to do that but anybody that wants a permanent position needs to show me they want the job. This position could lead to something full time and I can help a person build their career. I am willing to pay for all certifications a person gets including ASE. I don't expect a person to work for me for the rest of their life so I realize that a person may only work for a few years and then springboard into a better paying position. I'm ok with that.

What else could be eating you guys? jealousy? I'm been playing with machinery for the better part of 34 years. I've learned a thing or two in that time so don't get butthurt if I seem like a know a lot about cars and machinery.

With that being said, this thread is a serious call to find someone capable. All help will be paid over the table after Monday and I will have insurance on them in case they get hurt. I don't ride people's asses but I expect productivity. I don't yell, swear, or call my people names. I do expect them to look and act like professionals when customers are present. Am I still asking too much?

Jealousy? Definitely no. Curiousity about your super high standards one minute and day labor to work on vehicles the next. I understand you are having a hard time finding help but hiring somebody for specific job on a vehicle sounds shady.

why can't opportunities like this exist closer to me. I've become a workaholic lately as it's the only way to pay the bills, so i've been looking to pick something up on the weekends. but there are slim pickings in terms of normal employment for weekends only.

I guess you would have to meet me and see how I work and how I guide people. I have nine medium to large jobs stacked up and a backlog of work at one of my accounts. I need to turn the vehicles over faster if I want to stay in good standing with my high volume accounts.
