Default 3.4L 4runner running condition.

I've noticed if i dont let my yota warm up before taking it off it runs like poo. No power and almost sounds like its popping through the exhaust? But it runs like a champ once it warms up and is fine? Sensor? Clogged cat?

Never had the issue with mine but if it were a clogged cat I don't think it would go away after it warms up. Sounds like a sensor. Check engine light on at all? Have you tried to pull codes?

You said it goes away after it warms up. I'd check out the insufficient coolant temp. Is the thermostat working properly? radiator full of coolant?

had a similar issue with my 94 YJ... when I first started it and gave it gas it would pop and lunge and then finally "work through it" and get up to speed. didn't do it after warming up. I replaced a number of parts chasing it, including cat and exhaust, fuel filter, TPS, etc. but it turned out to be a cheap O2sensor and 15 minutes of labor.

What about the Temp sensor. Have you checked out IH8MUD or any of the other Toyaota sites for info?

Yeah, I'm a member on t4r.org. Couple guys said it sounds like the 02's are causing the issue and creating more problems.
