She already left with your Daughter, strike one. You NEED a GOOD lawyer and fast. Do you have good credit? take out a personal loan or pull a loan out on something you own clear, if not sell something, borrow, or sell your ass because that's whats on the line. Pay a little now or a lot for the rest of your life...your choice.

You can go to your local Circuit court and buy a packet to do it yourself ..Not too sure if its a set price..but I think $150.00 you will need to make 4 copies so make sure you have a copier handy because the courts will charge up the butt to make them..they usually give you the # for legal aid to help you out. You will also have to send her a copy by certified mail... But by all means listen to all of the sideline Attorneys / legal experts on here !

My dads was pretty cheap.
He kept the house and the junky car while she kept the nice car and all the land we owned. (6 states away) to where she moved.

They split the 401k and bills and savings.
My mom could have easily taken him for another $50k but I pretty much told them that there messing with my inheritance and they should play nice lol

Which they did and there both very happy.

This is the route my ex wife and I went. Though she ended up hiring an attorney to make sure we filled out the paperwork properly, but we agreed on everything so it was pretty easy.

If you can get your wife to agree to the terms of your divorce there is no need for expensive attorneys.

If you can't agree, then you will have to pay.....it's pretty much that simple.

Also, it's not common for the attorney's to instigate some disagreement so they can make some more $$ so choose wisely, or just choose one attorney to rep you both

An often overlooked yet crucial bit of information. The longer/nastier they can make it, the better for them $$$

that should say not uncommon for the lawyers to drag it out to get more $$ but obviously idieselman was able to get my drift.

Also they always go "we can get you more money".

My mom and dads attorneys kept telling them both this. Lucky I was the middle man and could tell them that both of there attorneys where trying to make them fight.

I went and spoke to an attorney, informed him of my broke-ass, and asked him to the following:

!. Type the papers.
2. Give them to me so I can file and pay the filing fee with the court.
3. Give me 3 hours' worth of question and answer time.
4. Review the order before it goes for finalization.

He agreed, and it came to $500. I asked him for some of it back because I never came up with 3 hour's worth of questions. He laughed.
