Nope, mine is not there. Unless he stole it, I will have to go look behind my barn now and check. I know he wants it for the boggers

Got my heads all cleaned up last night, i wanna throw in new valve seals while its out. Ill stop and grab them today. Having a heck of a time getting my valve springs off, my compressor isnt compressing them like it should.

Haven't accomplished alot this week too many "side projects".
Still waiting for the cam lifters etc...but once those come in watch out!!!!

Ill throw some progress pics of the motor up. As i get it moving along.

Thanks flareside,
Got the heads finally tore completely down tonight. Found two broken valve springs, and numerous bad valve seals. World products seals SUK...theyr just rubber "dust covers" for the best description.
Here is a pic..
Left to right.
Good world valve seal, bad valve seal, and NEW and improved viton seal.

That ed definitely cause a smoking problem.
The broke springs, are only on the inner spring??? But that explains my floating valves...here i thought it was all timing...
Heres the assembly...

busy weekend probably wont start re assembling till sunday or Monday.

Well played hookey today..kinda slow and didnt habe the motivation to brave the 55 mile drive in to work...so instead i warmed up the barn and went to work putting together the serpentine belt setup on the sbc...turned out good. Had to make different bracket than stock to hold the 200amp alternator...stop tomorrow to grab a new serpentine belt.
Definitely going to put the motor in tonight, may wait a day to break it in...
here it sits ready to drop in...

Ill post up some pix tonight when.its all settled back in its home..
