Default Kid's Letter To Obie

Take a look at this "letter from an eight year-old":

https://twitter.com/whitehouse/statu.../photo/1/large

I'm no forensic analyst, but the grammar and syntax of that do not read like an eight year old. He understands contractions (i.e. "you're" instead of "you are") better than 80% of GL4X4. It may have been written by an eight year old, but they were writing what they were told.

The handwriting also looks pretty well controlled for an eight year-old, and to me looks like an adult simulating child's writing rather than a child's actual writing. It looks way too controlled and consistent for second or third grader, with no signs of erasures or spelling/grammar issues.

I call BS. Not that it matters, or that letters from eight year-olds are a valid basis for a system of governance.

I still can't believe we collectively should base decisions on constitutional rights off a child that still thinks chocolate is a suitable dinner. And people fell for that shit yesterday, too.

I made this point to the two mothers who were watching Barry with me yesterday. Suprisingly, they both agreed.

After further thought, I would guess that the vast majority of these letters were classroom assignments with first drafts and final drafts. I wouldn't put it past most elementary school teachers to be suggesting what these kids write as well.

Bingarino!

I remember a class assignment writing the president when I was in elementary. Wasn't on this subject, but it is a common assignment. (I think we wrote about the moon landing)
