Default Update

After some mild wheeling and running in the trail master challenge up at twisted trails, everything seems to be good still. I have not broken any parts in my front axle so the weak link has yet to be found.

stronger than stock for sure! cheaper than chromos! i think i would have just done 4 heavey tac welds and not seemed them so well.
if they bust just get chromos and be done. i bet they last a good while. just watch the throttle while turned, and they will live.
decent idea for the price, i can see its value! im all about cheap fixes(or just not fixing anything)!

how much was the kit?

So yesterday my front axle shaft broke. I was bound up in some rocks and the drivers side stub shaft broke.
The U joint still feels very good and the "Almost Alloy" plates have seemed to hold up fine.

That's why this kit isn't worth much. It's a cheap fix to an issue. It is what it is.

im sure it works well at holding the caps on, and keeping the ears from stretching.
a cool idea for stock shafts. get a used stock stub and an inner, and make your own plates this time.
so cheap why even fix the old one. just replace it all.

I get that I mean ruins the ears when it comes to grinding them down to remove a broken ujoint then welding on them. Heating with the welder then them cooling off numberous times has to weaken the ears. I almost bought these in the past as well but everyone steered me away from them

Every time my 44 broke both the ears and U joint went. I haven't seen too many shafts survive a u joint failure. They fail before they get warn out.

Do you have a metallurgical background? Define weaken? It moved the failure point, successful application for what it's intended for. If you don't like breaking axle shafts, don't use a D30 to start with
