It cost too damn much. I never got a straight answer from my wife, and i never tried to figure it out because I feared what the number was..

Go to the Disney website and check out their resort packages. If you're going to stay for a few days it may be halfway reasonable. The resorts have theme pools and other stuff to do when you're not in the actual parks and there's plenty of transportation to get you where you want to go, including to and from the airport.

I've only been as a kid, so I can't comment on the price. We stayed at one of the resorts, took the tram to/from the parks. From what I remember the resort was cool, but the best part was the couple day cruise on Disney's Big Red Boat. No idea if that's still around or not, but it might be worth looking into.

If you haven't been in a long time it may be better to call and talk to someone.

Park Hopper Pass is a must in my opinion. It allows you to go to multiple parks in a day.

I just recently stayed at the all star movies resort and it was nice enough for me.

We just booked a trip for next year and we are staying at the port Orleans resort. Family of 5, park hopper pass and basic meal plan for 5 days 6 nights was $2700.

We will prob fly down and just use resort transportation.

We stay at pop century resort and get in 1 hour earlier than the public
Only thing you do at the hotel is eat and sleep and then its off to the parks
Park hopper is a must so you can go when you have seen everything at that park
also you can go to whatever fireworks at night (animal kingdom has none)
And we take a taxi to universal for one day

Go to AAA and you get discounts and extras

Yes, they do have night time events in the theme parks that are not available to the people not staying at resorts. (I think that's what you were getting at)

I stayed at one of the resorts last spring and it was right around $150 a night for two people. We didn't go to the theme parks, just Downtown Disney, didn't have any kids with us and I wasn't about to buy a ticket just to go wander around.

We went earlier this year and stayed at the all star movie resort, it is a budget resort and was not bad, you are not going to spend much time at your resort anyway. My wife and I went before we had kids and stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, that was very nice, but I dont think kids would appreciate it for major cost difference. We shipped a package to our hotel from us with cereal, fruitsnack, 2 loafs of bread penutbutter, jelly, vodka, ect. Then we bought 1/2 gallon of milk at the resort, that way we were able to make breakfast in out room and bring our own snacks into the park. We were also able to NOT buy the meal package. We bought it the first time we were there and still had meals available when we left.
As far as cost It is going to vary alot based on were you stay and what you do while your there.

4 years ago (probably not applicable now) it cost my family of 4 just over $4000 to drive down and spend 5 days/4 nights at the disney resort Port Orleans French Quarter, food, and tickets to all the parks.

We drove down in a motor home, and spent about $1000 in fuel

I would wait till sean is a little older so he can enjoy it too. just my opinion.

Bring as much of your own food and drinks as possible. that place is the most expenssive place on the planet!!!

I would go to Sea World when your there. Much better than Disney. again my opinion...lol

This ^^^ That BigBchevy guy is kinda smrt. Besides your kids would prolly have more fun at his house anyway. Plenty of dirt, toys, jungle gyms, volley ball, huge fires, a kid cage, friendly dogs, shiney-ish tools, both country and western music, 4 wheel drivering and the mascot is a frozen duck. Its called Ginger World and it is AWESOME!!

Yeah remembering it is more so what I meant. kids have fun playing with an empty box so of course they will enjoy the trip but most likely not understand, appreciate and remember the trip when they are only 1 1/2-2 years old. I went there as a 2 year old and dont remember the trip at all.

Wait until your kids are tall enough to not have to carry them on your shoulders through the entire park.............

The nice thing about bringing a kid under 2 is it is free to fly, free to stay at the resorts, and free to get into the parks. We just had to buy her food.

I'd wait until your kids are not only old enough to remember it, but wait until they are old enough to understand the value of a dollar and remember how much money you spent on them there.

Every time my wife brings up taking our daughter to Disney (it's still a few years off before we bother with it), I want to shoot myself in the face.
