For christmas 2011 my fiance bought me a set of soft 8's. She is a keeper for sure.

And since I got the rims I decided I needed 33's, used, and since I was getting 33's I thought I should lift it a little, just 1.5" shackles.

I think I must have gone on a little buying spree because I got an old hi lift jack and a new windshield frame too.

this is the way I mounted the hi lift, pretty much just used two spark plug sockets, long bolts and a couple wing nuts and presto! Still havent change that mounting system, i love it. I through a paddle lock on the too to keep the wonderful people of saginaw honest

boom shackles I got for 20$

oh I forgot to show you guys my first wheeling trip. I went over to the mounds one day, by myself. I was there about 5 min and I got stuck, this was with the 31's. Ice wasnt as thick as I thought.

Then I think it was about a month later I got stuck again.

I went over to midland state land and got myself in a tight spot, broke my used hi lift trying to get out so I had to leave it there over night.

new hi lift

and this is where the old one ended up, almost took my hand off when it broke

Welcome to the forum! Looks like you have done a lot of work to the little YJ - looking good.

There is the Tri-City Trail Riders in the area if you are looking at joining a club of other wheelers from the area. You can find us on Facebook if you want to see when we are getting together next, or shoot me a PM and I can provide more info.

ok Im back. here is the rebuilt rear cross member. I took a piece of 4x4 angle iron .25" thick and pretty much just welded it on there. Ill post a little diagram showing exactly what i did. It ended up being 100% stronger then the stock one. Im actually doing this to a fellow jeepers jeep this weekend because his swing out carrier is tearing his off.

heres some of the stuff I did to the inside of the jeep. When I got it the inside was bare with crappy seats. So, one day at the junk yard I went to town. Grabbed a full set of roll bar pads and snagged a tj sound bar for 25$!!!

the only good picture I have of the roll bar pads

and then I through some seats from a 2006 grand prix that I nailed for 30 for the pair!

then I painted the back seat, paint is still holding up.

Time to lift it! I was on a really tight budget so I decided on a bastard pack lift using s10 pick up springs. I also did some research and found some stock shocks from fords to use for the lift. Bought brand new for autozone for 85$ good for a 4" lift.

front shocks, just over 12" of travel

rear shocks about 9" of travel

and after the bastard, netted about 2" of lift with the shackles putting me at about 3.5"

first flex did ok
