I looked at it today and in order to run a longer pitman arm I have to cut and box the frame or space the box off the frame like the xj guys do. Haven't decided which way would be best but a spacer is a lot easier as I would have to weld by sound only. Once I figure that out I have to mount one of the hydro assist rams I picked up over the summer.

Tonight I went through and nutted and bolted the entire rig. I found a lot of loose bolts even though I just tighten everything in the summer! Thankfully all of my bolts are cotter keyed. I also found a really bad upper bj on the drivers side.

Today was also the first time I've tightened my Ballistic Joints (just over a year old). Half of a turn on one and a quarter turn on the other. I think that's pretty impressive considering there's only two of them for the entire front end.

So my pitman arm hits my frame rail and limits my steering. I’m 99% sure this will work, it works in my head but I just want to make sure before I take the time. Can you clock a pitman arm and still get the same amount of travel out of the box? I know I'll have to file splines into the flat spots and I don’t care where the steering wheel ends up, as long as I can get lock to lock steering.

Haven't touched this thing in a while because I needed some motivation and the snow definitely helped. Gota get ready for Snofari! So does anyone have any good links on rebuilding and tapping a saginaw box?

Also links on nylon brake lines and hydraulic parking brakes (the lock out ball valve style) would be appreciated

^^Thanks

Here's my ideer for a rear bumper. Any critiques before I make the real thing? FYI The shackle mounts will get moved to where ever the frame tie ins end up, so those aren't set just yet.

Gotta give a huge thanks in advance to Garrett and John for the help and the garage that John is going to let me use!!

Did you ever get your steering takin care of? Or are you still not at lock to lock

That third bumper looks pretty good with the tire carrier. With the pipe design of the carrier, I wouldn't be surprised if you had an exocage on your mind

Well the second will take far less work to make but I like the first on better, just add the tire carrier to it.

just read what I wrote for poky performance? I meant Pollyperformance

Kinda.. I have more than what I did have but not all the way, however the parts to get full steering are at home so I'll grab those at xmas.

They're all wide enough to mount a "tire carrier" too

That being said which one do you like?

Yea I have some slop in the wheel and everything is tight so I'm guessing it's more than likely the steering box. I'm upgrading to a Durango before SnoFari so I won't have to worry to much about running 35s.

IMO I like that step bumper. Just fab a box tube carrier and call it good. Blazer will look good with a custom rear bumper!

Cool, but don't spend that money just yet. You can tighten your steering box for free and you only need 2 tools.

Which bumper is that? the first or the second one? And I want a tree proof bumper so it needs to be attached at 2 separated points.

I like one and two. All the stuff that's on 3 could be added to 1 or 2 pretty easily anyway so build what you like.

I didn't know that you were jewish. Will the Star of David make the cut?

Beat me too it!

Looks like the first and second pic are the same bumper, just you have the bumper in the second pic in like a EDIT mode on Solidworks or something. That bumper with a tire carrier would be golden, or in your case Kosher

Okay just let me know. I'm going to replace it eventually because it's leaks all over my dads new driveway and he doesn't like it too much

Well, he used to hate it. But now I think he's learned to accept it. Whenever he looks at a stain on the blacktop, he chuckles

Actually 1 and 2 are the same just different views. That shitty tire carrier was just a random idea, but I plan on building something that mounts off an exo in the future.

I picked up a .35 spool of wire for you. Do you have the tips for that size? If not I can grab some for ya

Same way as I did the front. Cut the curve into the top plate, then slice up the side plate at 1" intervolves and bend it to fit the curve of the top piece.
