Default google not working

for some reason google hasnt worked on my laptop for a week or 2 now. it comes up with an error on the main page when it loads that looks like it does when the internet is down.

i cant read the error cause its all in china talk. any ideas?

when it is in american it says something like mozilla cant connect to google. server is to busy or down. please try again later. i did a system restore and it wont work then either. does it both on mozilla and internet explorer.

If all other websites work it is mostlikely that Your firewall has been modified by spyware or a trojan such that it redirects googles ip address to that error message. Need to remove the exception in the firewall redirecting google. To avoid this in the future follow hosejockey's advice; lay off the porn.

I'm pretty much computer illiterate, but I was having problems, installed google chrome.....had worse problems....uninstalled it and reinstalled and it's been working great (knock on wood) There is a web site bleepingcomputer.com that has some free downloads to clean up your computer and they may be able to help with your problem. Good luck.

You need to clean your hard drive

I recommend a 3500 psi pressure washer.

if that's over your head, you're not going to be able to get any help here. Take your computer in to a shop and get overcharged, or have a friend come over and look at it, and probably reload the OS.

I just pulled my laptop apart and blew out 6 years of dust, hair, dirt and grime. I'm just glad it went back together and is working.

You have 3 options:

1) Install some anti-virus software and hope like hell it fixes it.

2) Pay someone to fix it.

3) Put about 30rds of 7.62 through it and buy a new one.

you can do exactly like schweeb said, who was trying to help your inbred ass.

Copy and paste what he told you to open.

"C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts "

GO to notepad, open that, copy the results, paste them in a post here so schweeb can analyze them and tell you what your problem is

yes, I wasn't aware opening a file in an application wasn't something "normal people" do on a daily basis...
