Kimber Goldmatch Stainless II

Getting this for my dad for Christmas. Anybody carry Kimber on here? If so how do you like it

I myself have shot a few Kimbers and I love them. I can't wait until I get mine, but my dad will have to come first on this one

I know a few people that carry or carried them. They say they are great guns, pricey to me though. I want one but for $1000 and up I can buy 2-3 glocks for the same price and carry as easy or easier with unquestioned reliability. To me Glock all the way.

I carry a Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II and love it. I've heard of some people having feed and fitment issues with various model Kimbers, but most others love them. Mine has worked flawlessy. I love that even a relatively light .45 with a 3.5" barrel still shoots great. It's not the smallest carry gun in the world, but I can throw lead downrange comfortably all day so it's well worth the tradeoff. I've tried quite a few of the tiny carry guns and couldn't stand shooting the damn things.

Kimbers customer service is less than stellar.
That being said my Kimber Eclipse Pro is a bullet machine. But it took two trips back and they make you pay shipping.

This seems to be common practice. I just can't see spending that much coin and not getting a reliable gun right out of the box.

Where as Springfield Armory will send you a call ticket and take care of business.
I'm keeping the Kimber for now, but if it needs anything ever again, local gunsmith gets a shot.

I have a kimber raptor proII. It's ok. Nothing great IMO. I also have a glock 30 it stays in my truck. It's a tool to me it gets the job done. No flash with it at all. I love my colt but is a little big to carry all the time. The gun I Carry most of the time is a Ed Brown cobra carry. IMO its the best carry piece out there. But is cost double of the kimber.

Well, I guess he doesn't want a Kimber now. Well, hopefully he still does but not anytime soon. He wants a baby Glock. So He is getting the Glock 36 gen4. At least we'll be saving about $700!
