They were. They told the unions "This is what we need to do to stay open and if you strike we're all done."

Union went on strike.

All done.

"It's not fair". Welcome to the free market, it's fair, but I bet they won't like it.

I'm gonna miss there pies. I'm guessing they were a bit overpaid.

I also wonder how little debbie made money before they recently increased most of there prices by ~ 50%?

As I union member, I gotta say most union workers I know are living in a dream land when it comes to the economy and how it effects us. The amount of support the democrat party gets from the unions prove that.

I have no sympathy for people who cause their own issues. If that guy is the spokesperson for the brain trust standing there, then it's pretty sad..

These are the same kind of people that think just because John Schnatter (Papa John's pizza) lives in a castle, he should absorb a 14 cent per pizza average cost for Obamacare....

I have no sympathy for unskilled labor. While they were busy screwing around and having a good time, I was busy developing a marketable skill.

X infinity^2

When I got fired from Cold Heading, the next day I went to work for Action Automation. When the job was finished and I was laid off, the next day I went to work for Singer TV on the west side of Detroit. When I got sick of crackheads, I went to work for Lapeer Metal Stamping. When I could see they were going to fold, I went to CHS.

No one 'owes' you a job. You have to earn it.

Here's how I look at it. If the union rats think there is so much money to be had, why didn't they approach Hostess about buying the plants? The could knock on doors looking for investment capital, run the company as they see fit (workers' utopia), and feel the joy of having personal assets at risk in a business venture. Nothing makes a person feel important like taking a shit at 3:00 am and feverishly worrying how they are going to get the money to pay bills.

Then again, this is the new America. People don't view this type of stuff as an opportunity anymore, instead, they will look to the guberment to solve their problems.
